Past Seasons Of 'Rizzoli & Isles' Now on Hulu

If you're looking for a great procedural series to binge, the fact that Rizzoli & Isles is now on Hulu is likely to make your weekend.

The long-running TNT police drama starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander has been a solid ratings performer throughout it run. The show just wrapped up season six with the seventh and final season premiering in June.

Rizzoli & Isles features Harmon as the strong-willed and tough police detective Jane Isles, who unexpectedly develops a strong friendship with the much more refined police forensic pathologist Maura Isles (played by Alexander). Lorraine Bracco plays Jane's mother Angela Rizzoli and Jordan Bridges plays Jane's younger brother policeman Frankie Rizzoli Jr. Until his death in 2013, Lee Thompson Young played Det. Barry Frost.

There's certainly nothing groundbreaking about the show, and in fact there are moments that will make you cringe a bit at times. But the ensemble has a great chemistry and it's nice to see a cop drama with two female leads. It's also nice to see ample screen time being given to the older members of the cast, with both Angela Rizzoli and Detective Vince Korsak (played by Bruce McGill) being given meaty roles that even include some romance (albeit not between them).

As of Friday, the first five seasons of the show are available, with season six set to come to Hulu this summer. Season seven will join Hulu once the series airs it final episode. That's good news for fans of the show, since its has not previously aired on any of the major SVOD platforms.

This addition is the result of the recent deal signed between Hulu and a multiyear deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. The agreement gives Hulu exclusive future streaming rights to the current shows Lucifer, Blindspot and Rizzoli & Isles. It also includes rights to several catalog titles, including the complete series runs of The O.C., Smallville and Southland.
