I Somehow Manage To Call Tim Goodman An Idiot In Only 1,889 Words

Tim Goodman is the Television critic for the San Francisco Chronicle, and I don't think it's hype to say that he's one of the most talented people in the field. I think it's also fair to say that he can also at times be the Andy Rooney of TV critics--that cranky, grumpy old fart that sits at his computer and writes the digital equivalent of "Hey, Punks! Get Off My Lawn!"

Goodman is headed off for a short "staycation," and his parting shot is a screed against TV bloggers who he complains are about to ruin the credibility of his profession. Even though I've tried to ignore the piece all day, its pissy tone and inaccurate facts have dominated my brain for hours. I'm not trying to pick a fight (I swear), but I do want to answer his complaints point-by-point.

NBC Shows Digital Publicity Is Harder Than It Looks

I'm A CelebrityAfter arguing on Friday that NBC's "I'm A Celebrity..." had nearly killed my fondness for reality television, I certainly hadn't planned to write about the show again so soon.

But given the events of the weekend, I did want to write about how NBC has handled some of the publicity issues surrounding the show. At least from the outside, I get the impression that this is a case of a PR 1.0 in a Web 2.0 world.
