Jimmy Kimmel Addresses Twitter Feud With Kanye West

Singer Kanye West went on a bit of a Twitter rampage Thursday night, venting his anger at Jimmy Kimmel over a spoof that appeared on the late night talk show host's ABC show the night before.

Kimmel spoofed West’s BBC Radio interview using children to re-create the face-to-face between West and interviewer Zane Lowe. West apparently felt the segment didn't show him the proper respect and he made a phone call to Kimmel before tearing into him on Twitter.

Kimmel explained what was going on to his audience on Thursday night's show:

Hi everyone. I’m Jimmy. I’m the host of the show. Thank you for watching. Thank you for making the long and harrowing trek to get here this evening. I’m glad you’re here.

It’s been a weird -- quick question, did anyone else get a very angry phone call from Kanye West about an hour and a half ago?

Just me? Okay.  I didn’t know if he was mad at all of us.

Did you get one, Cleto? 

I got one.  I’ll tell you about that in a minute.

Welcome back. Tonight is the first night of the 12^th Annual LA Feast of San Gennaro.

It’s happening all weekend here in Hollywood – and everyone is invited – so bring the kids and come by.  

Kanye West called me about an hour – hour and a half ago in my office. 

He is very angry because of a bit we aired this week.  He gave an interview to the BBC – and we had a kid actor –take the words and reenact it.  

 

We just had the kid say the stuff Kanye said.  And apparently this upset him.  

 

He called me.  He said a lot of things.

 

He told me I had two choices – #1 Apologize publicly.

 

And that was really the only choice – the other choice he gave was “my life…your life is going to be much better if I apologize” 

And then he started tweeting today.  And I don’t even know if I’ve seen some of these because they’re happening as we speak.

 

CHYRON: JIMMY KIMMEL IS OUT OF LINE TO TRY AND SPOOF IN ANY WAY THE FIRST PIECE OF HONEST MEDIA IN YEARS

He really is Pac.  I mean that’s right out of the Tupac playbook, isn’t it?

So, I don’t know.  I don’t understand it.  I don’t know why he’s angry.  The bit was pretty innocuous.

Finally, I’m in a rap feud.

I always wanted to be in a rap feud.

Right now we’re at DefKanye Five.

We will keep an eye – are there any new ones?  We’ll keep an eye out during the show to see if he has any new ones.
