The long-running police reality series "Cops" has been pulled from the Paramount Network and will not come back to the network. The move was apparently made in response to the George Floyd killing and the resulting criticism of television's warts-free coverage of law enforcement.
"Cops is not on the Paramount Network and we don’t have any current or future plans for it to return" a Paramount Network spokesperson said in a statement to AllYourScreens.
"Cops" premiered on Fox in 1989 and aired on Saturday nights in primetime for 25 seasons. The series was brought back in 2013 by Spike TV and was kept on by the network when it changed its name to Paramount.
The last episode of the show aired on the Paramount Network June 1st and its 33rd season was supposed to premiere yesterday (June 8th).
