43,000 MORE WALT DISNEY WORLD WORKERS TO BE FURLOUGHED
The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that 43,000 unionized workers at Walt Disney World will be laid off beginning April 19th. The resort destination has already idled nearly all of its non-unionized work force and the latest move will bring the overall total of furloughed employees to nearly 77,000. About 200 Disney World workers will remain on the job performing “essential duties" during the closure, and they will be offered positions based on seniority.
