NBC Cancels '1600 Penn,' Picks Up 'Parks And Recreation'

1600 Penn
NBC executives began making their cancellation and series pick-up calls on Thursday, and one of them officially gave the hook to rookie comedy "1600 Penn." The move was expected, since the series never really found and audience and showrunner Mike Royce found out on Wednesday that his new show was being picked up to series for the fall.

The network has also picked up "Parks And Recreation" for a sixth season. The fate of fellow Thursday comedy "Community" has not yet been announced.
