Another YouTube App Banned From Roku

Videobuzz, a private channel that allowed Roku users to access YouTube video clips, will be shutting down on Wednesday.

The following notice is posted on the Videobuzz Facebook page:

"We received a notice from Roku management asking us to close down the channel as we don't own the content which is being streamed by VideoBuzz channel. As of now, we will be closing down the channel on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013."

In April of 2011, another private YouTube Channel was shutdown by Roku after it received a takedown notice from YouTube's owner Google.

The problem in both cases appears to be the YouTube's terms of services, which prohibits this type of streaming to a secondary device without permission. In the case of Videobuzz, the channel also seems to strip the Google ads out of the videos, which is also a problem for Google.
