'Bob The Builder' Rebooted As A Hunk

Bob the Builder
The veteran kids TV show BOB THE BUILDER is getting a reboot and this time he's leaner, younger and better looking.

HIT Entertainment's reimagining of the series premieres on the U.K.'s Channel 5 kids channel "Milkshake" in early September and all of the familiar faces are sporting a newly updated look. And by "updated," we mean less middle-class craftsman, more model-turned-carpenter.

As you can see from the above image, both Bob The Builder and Wendy look young enough to be the kids of the original cast. And unlike the original slightly doughy BTB, the new version appears to be sporting a 5% body fat ratio.

As a reminder, here's a look at the older, more familiar BOB THE BUILDER:

Aside from the cosmetic changes, the new version also tweaks some of the characters and locales. Instead of working in Bobsville or Sunflower Valley, the new show is set in Spring City. The show also gets some new culturally diverse characters, including Mayor Maria Madison and the Spring City Rockets.

The show will also get a new voice cast, including Lee Engelby (Harry Potter) as Bob, Joanne Froggatt (DOWNTON ABBEY) as Wendy and Blake Harrison (INBETWEENERS) as Scoop.

Granted, this reboot isn't nearly as creepy as the latest take on Alvin & The Chipmunks. But that's setting the bar pretty low for the success of a reboot.

HIT Entertainment is producing two seasons of 52 11-minute episodes, along with a 2017 hour-long special. There's no word yet on when this new version of BOB THE BUILDER will premiere in the U.S.
