Netflix Warns Users On Thursday About Streaming Problems

A number of Netflix users on Thursday are reporting streaming issues and the inability to access some specific titles and seasons.

In some cases - as with the shows "House M.D." and "Better Off Ted" - the show is shown to be available, but none of the episodes can be viewed. In the case of other shows - such as "The X Files" - only some of the available seasons can be viewed.

Viewers in the U.S., Canada and Latin America have experienced some streaming problems over the past 48 hours, but this outage seems to be more widespread.

A notice on the Netflix site warns users about the problems:

We are currently experiencing issues streaming on all devices.

We are working to resolve the problem. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The official Netflix Help Twitter account also acknowledged the problem:

We're aware that some members are unable to access particular content. We're investigating the issue - please check back later.

It's not known whether all users are affected or how long the outage will last.

UPDATE (5/1- 2:31 pm CT): A Netflix engineer who asks not to be identified says that the unavailability of shows such as "House" is due to the current "ongoing outage incident."
