Too Much TV: Your TV Talking Points For Thursday, April 26th

Here's everything you need to know about the world of television for Thursday, April 26th, 2018. I'm writing this from the Twin Cities, where AllYourScreens HQ is running on McDonald's coffee and the new Pentatonix album.

'QUANTICO' RETURNS TONIGHT...BUT DO YOU CARE?
The ABC FBI conspiracy drama "Quantico" returns tonight and I'm not convinced anyone cares. Season One was pretty gripping and it managed to do a nice job of building a conspiracy that seemed just outlandish enough to be true. But season two just seemed manipulative and unbelievable and it was difficult to watch even with a cast that included Priyanka Chopra, Blair Underwood, Marlee Matlin, Josh Hopkins and Johanna Braddy. There was flashbacks, flash forwards, simultaneous conspiracies in the FBI and CIA and a hostage situation that was insane. The show limped through the season and much to the surprise of everyone, the show was renewed for a new season.

Season three premieres tonight with a new showrunner and another change of scenery:

It’s been three years since American hero Alex Parrish has had to navigate the dangerous waters of the Central Intelligence Agency and put her life on the line for her country. She has been living a peaceful, anonymous life somewhere in Italy. However, Alex is forced to abandon this idyllic existence when Ryan persuades her to help him rescue Shelby from a notorious international arms dealer known only as The Widow, who is holding her hostage – and in exchange for her release she demands something that only Alex can provide.

I'm not convinced anyone will actually be watching. But I didn't think anyone would watch TLC's "Skin Tight," so what do I know?

AFTER 100 EPISODES, 'FINDING BIGFOOT' REALIZES IT CAN'T ACTUALLY FIND BIGFOOT
Animal Planet announced late Wednesday that the show "Finding Bigfoot" will end with its 100th episode, which premieres on May 27th:

The two-hour special features our intrepid cast of investigators—Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) president Matt Moneymaker, researchers James “Bobo” Fay and Cliff Barackman and skeptical scientist Ranae Holland—as they travel to the 50th anniversary celebration of the Patterson Gimlin film, often referred to as the holy grail of Bigfoot footage and the most famous piece of evidence ever recorded. Cutting-edge technology brings forth all-new details of the creature captured on this film and leaves our investigators more convinced than ever about its authenticity. Then, go behind the scenes with the Finding Bigfoot investigators and crew to celebrate 100 episodes of Finding Bigfoot. With more than nine years and 100 episodes to look back on, it’s a fun-filled hour with never seen footage of the investigators and crew, in addition to the very best moments of Finding Bigfoot.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Season one of the CW superhero series "Black Lightning" is now available on Netflix.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS
If you were a fan of Netflix's Sense8, you were probably frustrated when the show was canceled with several big cliffhangers still left unanswered. After a lot of fan complaints, everyone involved decided to put together a special episode that would serve as the official series finale. And Netflix announced on Tuesday that special will premiere on June 8.

Netflix has also announced that volume two of "Dear White People" will premiere on Friday, May 4th.

Season 11 of the CNN series "Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown" premieres this Sunday and in the episode, Bourdain travels to West Virginia. Bourdain digs deep into the proud, often misunderstood culture of West Virginia, as he traverses a 5,000 foot mine, observes the demolition derby–like sport of rock-bouncing and dines on signature Appalachian dishes. Bourdain’s own preconceptions are dashed as he finds the West Virginian attitude to be a remarkable dichotomy, both resolute and open-minded. Over an assortment of local dishes – snapping turtle patties, squirrel gravy, pawpaw ice cream, spaghetti pie, and bear meat – residents candidly discuss their staunch views on the second amendment, Donald Trump, life beyond the coal industry, and the reclamation of West Virginian cuisine.

And to check out when your other TV favorites are returning, take a look at our painfully big list of TV premieres.

Often described as "trans racial" activist Rachel Dolezal ignited an unprecedented media storm when a local news station in Spokane, WA outed her as a white woman who had been living as the black president of the NAACP. Since the controversy erupted, director Laura Brownson and team exclusively filmed with Rachel, her sons and her adopted sister Esther, capturing the intimate, vérité life story of a damaged character who lands squarely in the cross-hairs of race and identity politics in America — and exploring how that character still provokes negative reactions from millions who see her as the ultimate example of white privilege. 5) Bobby Kennedy For President (Netflix)
The eye-opening and transformative four-part docuseries Bobby Kennedy for President utilizes rare and never-before-seen archival footage – much of it digitized for the first time – to transport us to a turbulent and dynamic era, letting Bobby's voice and viewpoint be the guiding force.
