Philo Adds Three Channels To Basic Package

Entertainment-oriented streaming TV service Philo is adding three digital-first channels to its basic programming package.
The food and travel channel Tastemade will be available on Philo beginning today, with the general and headline news channel Big Cheddar and the entertainment-oriented People TV coming soon.
"Philo is simply a better way to watch TV, and with the addition of Cheddar Big News, PeopleTV and Tastemade, we are thrilled to add even more value for our subscribers," said Andrew McCollum, Philo’s CEO in a statement announcing the deal. "We built Philo for everyone who feels like TV was no longer serving them, and this is one more way we can stand apart."
Philo began as a company offering television to the college market, but last November launched a consumer-based service that offers about 40 entertainment-focused networks for $16 per month. Another nine channels is available for an additional $4 per month.
