Amazon Premieres 14 Pilots Online For Free

Positively Ozitively
Amazon Prime's Instant Video jumped into the original programming game late last year when it commissioned a series of pilots that would be considered for an eventual series order by the streaming TV service. While rival Netflix has focused its programming money on a few high-profile projects (its "Hemlock Grove" is premiering today), Amazon has opted to fund a larger number of possible projects, including several kids shows.

Amazon has made all 14 pilots available to watch for free beginning today, as part of an effort to crowdsource which projects deserve to move forward. The pilot season page includes links to a page that allows viewers to rate the projects. Amazon is also encouraging viewers to write reviews of the individual pilots.

As an added incentive, Amazon is also giving viewers the chance to download free music tracks that are drawn from the pilots.

The pilots include six children's programs and eight comedy pilots, including one based on the movie "Zombieland."

One note about the pilots. While you don't have to subscribe to Amazon Prime to view the pilots, you do have to sign in or create an Amazon account to watch them.

We'll be reviewing the pilots throughout the weekend here at AllYourScreens.com.
