Synopsis: From Spelling Television and Brenda Hampton comes 7th Heaven, a critically acclaimed family drama about a minister, his wife and their seven children. The WB's highest-rated series, 7th Heaven, has captured the hearts of television audiences with its witty, charming and heartwarming storytelling and has been praised for providing high-quality entertainment for all ages.

The series has received numerous awards for chronicling the many complex problems of growing up in the world today. The young adults on 7th Heaven have been exposed to issues ranging from teen suicide and sibling rivalry to violence in schools. Storylines have touched on such topics as the Holocaust, hate crimes, prejudice against Muslims, drug use, vandalism, drinking and driving, teen pregnancy and homelessness. Reflecting the headlines of our times, recent episodes have also focused on a real-life American serviceman who was killed in Afghanistan and a law allowing teenage mothers to turn their unwanted babies over to hospitals with no questions asked. The series has received honors from the Parents Television Council, The Media Project's Shine Awards, Entertainment Industries Council's Prism Awards, Viewers Voice, Anti-Defamation League, Film Advisory Board, Academy of Religious Broadcasting, Kids Choice Awards, Teen Choice Awards, Family Friendly Forum Awards and the TV Guide Awards.

Now in its eighth season, "7th Heaven" stars Emmy Award-nominated Stephen Collins, Catherine Hicks, David Gallagher, Beverley Mitchell, Mackenzie Rosman, Nikolas and Lorenzo Brino as the twins, Ashlee Simpson, Rachel Blanchard, George Stults and Jeremy London. In addition, new regular cast member Scotty Leavenworth returns in the role he originated last season as Ruthie's boyfriend.

Last season ended with a police officer arriving at the Camdens' door to deliver the terrible news that Simon (Gallagher) was involved in a traffic accident that resulted in the death of another young man. The entire Camden family is affected by this tragedy, and everyone works to help Simon as he faces the biggest crisis of his young life. Months after the accident, Simon is still unable to forgive himself or even talk about what happened. He finally decides that going away to college after an early graduation from high school is the only way to start over.

For the Reverend Eric Camden (Collins), the past year was spent working through a series of life-changing events, including open-heart surgery and the arrival of the new associate minister Chandler Hampton (London), all of which led Eric to a crisis of faith and an examination of his life's direction. Having worked through his personal problems, Eric will now take on the world's problems as he becomes an activist working to solve society's big issues. Eric's wife Annie (Hicks) has always had her hands full caring for her own seven children, not to mention the friends, sweethearts and spouses that continually come and go in the Camden household. This year, Annie faces the deteriorating health of her father, and her responsibility for his care will often take her away from home. Annie's frequent absences makes daily living a more difficult task for all the Camdens.

Eric and Annie's oldest son Matt (Barry Watson, who starred on the series for six seasons) is now happily married and attending medical school. The family suffered through a difficult estrangement from oldest daughter Mary (Jessica Biel, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," "Ulee's Gold") last season, but Mary and Matt both returned for the wedding of their sister, Lucy (Mitchell) to her police officer boyfriend, Kevin (Stults). While Lucy and Kevin struggle with the issues facing all newlyweds, Matt will be around to offer some brotherly advice, and Mary will drop in on the family again to announce a few surprising changes in her life.

There is always someone going through puberty in the Camden household. This season, Ruthie will be the one experiencing teenage drama as she learns the ins and outs of relationships with her boyfriend Peter (Scotty Leavenworth). Now that their mother must be out of the house so often, care of the twins (Nikolas and Lorenzo Brino) often falls to family friend Cecilia (Simpson), although Annie is sometimes resentful of the close relationship Cecilia is forming with the boys.

Finally, Eric's associate minister Chandler and his police officer girlfriend Roxanne (Blanchard) will face a difficult turning point in their relationship. Through all the ups and downs, Eric and Annie have managed to keep their romance alive and their family together. Not only are they raising their own seven children, they've picked up several additional family members along the way. This season promises to be the most challenging ever for the Camdens and their extended family.
