| Synopsis: Graham Norton has set
his sights on America and he will land on COMEDY CENTRAL! The British
TV sensation is currently in production on his variety/talk show "The
Graham Norton Effect" which premieres Thursday, June 24 at 10:00 p.m.
Norton is best known for his hit series, "So Graham Norton" on BBC America.
As well Norton will be taping a one-hour stand-up special exclusively
for COMEDY CENTRAL this year. Host Graham Norton brings his irreverent brand of humor into people's living room in this 13-episode series, the first hour-long series in COMEDY CENTRAL's history. "The Graham Norton Effect" will combine Norton's unique and outrageous comic sensibility with celebrity interviews, audience interaction and hilarious roving webcam segments. He's not afraid to do whatever it takes to connect with the audience - by phone, through the internet, in down-and-dirty interviews, and all with an unadulterated point of view. Each episode of the weekly series will be produced and taped in New York City just days before its broadcast on Thursday evening. In preparation for the launch of the series, COMEDY CENTRAL will air "Introducing Graham Norton," a half-hour special, which lets America get-to-know the style of comedian and talk-show host Graham Norton is like never before. The special features clips from his past series and debuts Thursday, June 17 at 9:00 p.m. Raised in the Republic of Ireland, Graham Norton is currently one of the most popular entertainers on British television. The critically-acclaimed Norton has won every possible British Television Award for his show, as well as an International Emmy for Best Popular Arts Program in 2001. His big break in the world of comedy came in 1997 when he was nominated for the prestigious Perrier comedy award at the world-famous Edinburgh Festival, which led to multiple TV offers and, ultimately, to the creation of the hugely successful "So Graham Norton" on Britain's Channel Four. Norton's international popularity has already led to specials in Japan ("Ah So Graham Norton"), Shanghai ("Mao Graham Norton") and Mexico ("Si Graham Norton"). Production Credits: Norton's production company, So Television, will produce "The Graham Norton Effect" with Norton and Graham Stuart serving as the executive producers.
