Synopsis: November 22, 2003 is the 40th anniversary of the assassination
of the 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
To mark this occasion, The History Channel will present a groundbreaking
special, JFK: A Presidency Revealed, on this enormously gifted
and flawed man who wrestled with some of the most dangerous times in
American history.
JFK: A Presidency Revealed makes its world premiere on The History
Channel on Sunday, November 16 at 8pm/7c. The three-hour special, JFK:
A Presidency Revealed, brings both the character of Kennedy and
the age of Kennedy into sharp focus and shows how one impacted the other.
JFK: A Presidency Revealed will lead off a week of special programming
related to President John F. Kennedy, called "JFK Week." Four times
in just three years Kennedy faced the real possibility of direct military
confrontation with the Soviet Union. Three times in his administration,
he would be faced with the possibility that federal troops would have
to occupy southern states to protect the civil rights of black Americans.
The special will use the crisis points of JFK's presidency, both personal
and political, to give perspective to a presidency cut short by assassination.
