Synopsis: A Girl Thing tells four stories featuring women dealing with life's twists and turns. All are seeking advice from Psychiatrist Dr. Beth Noonan (Stockard Channing).

Facing her own personal struggles, Dr. Noonan assists each of the women in making successful transitions in their lives.

The first story features Lauren (Elle Macpherson), an attorney who finds herself in an unexpected romance with Casey (Kate Capshaw), an advertising exec.

In the second story, three sisters (Rebecca DeMorney, Allison Janney, Glenne Headly) learn how to deal with each other while coping with their controlling mother's death.

The third story involves revenge, as a wronged wife (LynnWhitfield) and a private investigator collaborate with her husband's lover (Mia Farrow) to give the cheater a taste of his own medicine.

In the final story, an emotionally disturbed patient (Camryn Manheim) threatens Dr. Noonan and her staff with a gun, with surprising results.
