Political Poll: Only 11% Of NC Residents Support 'Sharknado' Recovery Bill

Since most of us non-political operatives still consider this to be the election off-season, it's sometimes a bit hard to get the press to pay attention to off-year election polling. Polling firm Public Policy Polling (PPP) solves that problem by adding a few goofball questions to each of their statewide political polls.

On Thursday the firm released polling numbers from North Carolina, and along with questions about the Supreme Court and John Edwards, PPP added a couple of questions related to the recent Syfy film "Sharknado."

Despite the novel storm fighting techniques proposed by #Sharknado, only 13% of voters would support $50 million in federal money to research the effectiveness of dissipating tornadoes by throwing bombs into them, compared to 66% opposed.

And there's little sympathy for Los Angeles' plight from the movie- just 11% of voters support federal aid to California for #Sharknado recovery with 55% opposed.
