Elizabeth Warren Declines Invitation To Fox News Channel Town Hall

Elizabeth Warren turned down a Fox News invitation Tuesday for a televised town hall in an extended Twitter thread in which she denounced the cable network as a “hate-for-profit racket that gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracists."

After the Democratic party declined to schedule a 2020 presidential debate on Fox, the news channel began inviting individual Democratic presidential candidates to appear in town halls moderated by its news reporters. Bernie Sanders and Amy Klobuchar have already town halls for the network and both Kirsten Gillibrand and Pete Buttigieg have agreed to do the same while criticizing the network's overly comfy coverage of Donald Trump.

Here is the complete Twitter thread from Warren, who explained that while she is eager to answer questions from any news organization, she won’t ask millions of Democratic primary voters to tune into an outlet that profits from racism and hate.
