Chef Featured On 'Kitchen Nightmares' Found Dead In Hudson River

The body of a North Jersey restaurant owner whose establishment was once featured on "Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares" was found floating in the Hudson River on Friday.

Authorities said on Sunday that Joseph Cerniglia, 39, of Wayne, N.J. was found in the water near Manhattan's West 145th Street. Cerniglia was the chef-owner of Campania, a Fair Lawn, N.J. restaurant that was featured in a 2007 episode of the Fox television series where celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay shows struggling restaurateurs how to turn their businesses around.

The makeover seemed to have worked, as the restaurant has remained in business.

The cause of death is under investigation, but "no criminality" is suspected, authorities said. Several local press reports claimpolice are investigating several sightings of a man jumping off of a nearby bridge.
