Richard Hammond: 'Of Course I'll Still Watch Top Gear'

Richard Hammond is sort of the Ryan Seacrest of the U.K. While he's best known to U.S. audiences as being one of the three former hosts of TOP GEAR, in the U.K. he's a longtime radio personality, producer and host of a wide range of other television programs.
His newest series is RICHARD HAMMOND's JUNGLE QUEST, which premieres on the U.K.'s Sky 1 on September 16th. The show was produced as part of Sky's Rainforest Rescue partnership with the WWF and Hammond appeared Monday Sky News' SUNRISE program. As you might expect, he was also asked about TOP GEAR and pressed for some details about the new Amazon series he'll be appearing in with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard May.
Hammond said the new show still didn't have an official name and he couldn't reveal when the series might premiere on Amazon. "We'll be back on air, it'll be a while...we've got a lot to do to evolve a whole new thing, which is a tremendously exciting and invigorating process."
The BBC has announced that Chris Evans will be the new host of TOP GEAR and Hammond said he'll be watching the show even though he's no longer part of the production.
"Of course I'll watch it. We were guardians of the whole thing. It had been around before us and it'll be around after us."
