Warner Brothers To Halt Licensing Of 'Dukes Of Hazzard' Products Featuring Rebel Banner

Warner Brothers Consumer Products has joined the growing list of companies that are halting the licensing or sale of items featured the Confederate Flag also known as the rebel banner.

The company has licensed a large number of products featuring the iconic General Lee vehicle from the television series "Dukes Of Hazzard." But the company said on Thursday that it will no longer license any products that include the Confederate Flag.

"Warner Bros. Consumer Products has one licensee producing die-cast replicas and vehicle model kits featuring the General Lee with the confederate flag on its roof — as it was seen in the TV series," a spokesman for the company told Vulture. "We have elected to cease the licensing of these product categories."

This is a change of plans for the company, which as recently as 2012 said it wouldn't be pulling the flag off of its products.

"We were not and are not planning to change design of the General Lee on merchandise,” Warner Bros. said at the time.
