Telemudo's 'El Recuso' (The Inmate) Ranks As The #1 Regularly-Scheduled Spanish-Language Show
"El Recluso" (The Inmate), Telemundo’s first short-format scripted series ranked as the number one regularly-scheduled program in Spanish-language television during its 13 episode run in weekday prime averaging 669K and 269K among A18-49 and A18-34 respectively, according to Nielsen. The prison thriller starring Ignacio Serricchio and Ana Claudia Talancón, also ranked as the #1 regularly-scheduled Spanish-language show in the 10pm hour among A18-49, A18-34 and P2+, outperforming Univision’s “La Piloto 2” by +43%, +31% and +21% respectively.
Locally, the series’ finale positioned Telemundo as the #1 station, regardless of language at 10pm in Los Angeles among A18-49, while ranking as the #1 Spanish-language network for the hour in Miami, San Francisco, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Denver and Tampa.
“El Recluso” tells the story of Lázaro Mendoza (Serricchio), a former U.S. Marine who enters a maximum-security prison in Mexico, under a false identity and accused of an alleged triple murder. His mission is to infiltrate a dangerous band of inmates and guards that operate inside and outside of prison who are the prime suspects of the kidnapping of the teenage daughter of U.S. Judge, John Morris (Guy Ecker).
Executive produced by Marcos Santana, Inna Payán, Ana Paula Valdovinos and Sebastián Ortega, “El Recluso” is was directed by Jorge Colón, Mariano Ardanaz and Alfonso Pineda. The script was conceptualized by Marcos Santana and adapted by Joaquín Casasola, Enrique Vázquez y Gerónimo Barriga.
