Biography:
Perhaps best known for his role as "Larry Dallas" on the classic
sitcom Threes
Company, Richard Kline joins the new "Must See TV" lineup
on "Inside Schwartz." Kline stars as Gene Schwartz, Adams
(Breckin Meyer) gregarious father, who owns the sandwich-shop chain
where Adam works.
A native New Yorker, Klines theatrical debut was
with the prestigious Lincoln Center Repertory Company. What followed
was a series of repertory theater appearances throughout the East Coast,
including the New York Shakespeare Festival where he appeared in "Troilus"
and "Cressida" for legendary theatre impresario Joseph Papp.
His numerous theater credits include the title role in "Henry V,"
two Kennedy Center performances, "How I Got The Story," "City
of Angels," "Boychick," "By Jeeves" and, most
recently, "Mizlansky/Zilinsky" with Michael Lerner.
Klein recently made a leap to motion pictures by co-starring
in Academy Award winner Barry Levinsons movie "Liberty Heights."
He has also co-starred in "Warm Blooded Killers" and "Nothing
But The Truth."
As a director, Kline got his start courtesy of Burt Reynolds
at his theatre in Jupiter, Florida. He directed "Crimes of the
Heart" and "Social Security" for Reynolds. After winning
the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for his direction of "Present
Laughter," Kline directed episodes of Evening
Shade, which led to other television directing including Academy
Award nominee Bruce Davison in his show Harry
& The Hendersons and actor/comedian Billy Connolly in his show Billy.
He most recently directed a one-man show entitled "Its Me!
Dad!" which was broadcast on KCET and starred NBC weatherman Fritz
Coleman.
When not working, Kline enjoys teaching an acting workshop
at the Actor's Forum Theatre in North Hollywood, California. He resides
in Sherman Oaks, California, and is the proud father of his 17-year-old
daughter, Colby. His birthday is April 29th, 1951.
