Biography:
Perhaps best known for his role as "Larry Dallas" on the classic sitcom Three’s Company, Richard Kline joins the new "Must See TV" lineup on "Inside Schwartz." Kline stars as Gene Schwartz, Adam’s (Breckin Meyer) gregarious father, who owns the sandwich-shop chain where Adam works.

A native New Yorker, Kline’s theatrical debut was with the prestigious Lincoln Center Repertory Company. What followed was a series of repertory theater appearances throughout the East Coast, including the New York Shakespeare Festival where he appeared in "Troilus" and "Cressida" for legendary theatre impresario Joseph Papp. His numerous theater credits include the title role in "Henry V," two Kennedy Center performances, "How I Got The Story," "City of Angels," "Boychick," "By Jeeves" and, most recently, "Mizlansky/Zilinsky" with Michael Lerner.

Klein recently made a leap to motion pictures by co-starring in Academy Award winner Barry Levinson’s movie "Liberty Heights." He has also co-starred in "Warm Blooded Killers" and "Nothing But The Truth."

As a director, Kline got his start courtesy of Burt Reynolds at his theatre in Jupiter, Florida. He directed "Crimes of the Heart" and "Social Security" for Reynolds. After winning the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for his direction of "Present Laughter," Kline directed episodes of Evening Shade, which led to other television directing including Academy Award nominee Bruce Davison in his show Harry & The Hendersons and actor/comedian Billy Connolly in his show Billy. He most recently directed a one-man show entitled "It’s Me! Dad!" which was broadcast on KCET and starred NBC weatherman Fritz Coleman.

When not working, Kline enjoys teaching an acting workshop at the Actor's Forum Theatre in North Hollywood, California. He resides in Sherman Oaks, California, and is the proud father of his 17-year-old daughter, Colby. His birthday is April 29th, 1951.
