Annual Razzies
By Rick
Ellis
On the evening
before the Oscars, the Raspberry Awards were presented in what
has now become a silly and often funny parody of the more serious
Academy Awards. Unlike the Oscar, the Razzies are given to the
worst performances, films, and scripts. They were chosen by about
475 Raspberry Foundation members, including film industry professionals,
journalists and movie fans.
This year's
big winner was the Joe Eszterhas film "An Alan Smithee Film: Burn,
Hollywood, Burn!" That disaster of a supposed satire grabbed five
Razzies, breaking the record of three previously held by Kevin
Costner for last year's "The Postman."
Other notable
losers..errr.....winners were the Spice Girls, who were won an
award for worst actress for their film "Spice World."
The singiers were described as having "the talent of one bad actress
between them."
