Nominations
were announced this morning for the 54th Annual Emmy Awards. The
live ceremony at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Leonard
H. Goldenson Theatre was hosted by Laura Innes of E.R.
and Eric McCormack of Will
& Grace.
HBO’s Six
Feet Under received a leading 23 Emmy nominations Thursday,
while Emmy favorite The
West Wing was a close second with 21 nominations.
Another big
winner in the nomination landfall came to HBO's Band of Brothers,
which nabbed 19 nods overall including Outstanding Miniseries.
HBO topped
the network list with 93 nominations, followed by NBC with 89,
CBS with 50, ABC with 35 and Fox with 33 nominations.
The 54th
PrimeTime Emmy Awards will air September 22nd on NBC. A host has
yet to be announced.
